Made in Tain

Made in Tain is a Social Enterprise, blending the development of skills with a retail environment, to create a unique learning opportunity based in the town of Tain in the Easter Ross Peninsula.

Primarily working with young people to develop confidence and skills in a welcoming and safe space. Within the Centre are training areas where the production of soap, candles, crafts, fabric goods and gift items are prepared under supervision by staff and sold in the public shop.

This is a “not-for-profit” organisation where funds raised from shop sales enables the purchase of raw materials.

Social Enterprise Programme

Attending the Made in Tain ‘social enterprise programme’ allows you to choose from skills development courses such as soap and candle making, card making, sewing, customer care and retail business skills.  Part of the programme involves making products to help keep the shelves stocked and serve customers in our shop.  All activities are fully supported by staff and provide valuable work experience.
